Show EXPERIMENT STATION IRK HAS BEGUN IN SANPETE COUNTY Recently Dr. George Stewart., A-gronomist A-gronomist of the Utah Agricultural College, and Superintendant Alma Wilson of the Davis County Experiment Experi-ment Farm in connection with Jacob Thompson of Ephraim and the, County Agent definitely outlined the Fperiment projects to be conducted this summer on the peat land Exper-imen Exper-imen Farm two and one half miles west of Ephraim. There will be planted altogether approximately twenty five acres this year, all of which is planted at this writing except approximately three acres of potatoes and one acre of corn. A-boiit A-boiit two acres of truck crons were planted, consisting of ten different varieties of onions, cabbage, cauliflower, cauli-flower, three varieties of carrots red beets, string beams, lettuce, cucumbers, cucum-bers, turnips, spinach, etc. There has also been planted six acres of trebi barley, seven acres o Sweedish Select Oat.i, one acre of Dicklow wheat, and three and one half acres of sugar beets. A small acreage of red clover, sweet clover, and timothy have also, been planted. A few specially selected bushes of blueberries are being tried out. Many different cultural experi net s have been given the dilferen types of soil. A portion of the land will not be cropped this year due to not being able to prepare a proper seed b;!d. The' following varieties of potatoes will be planted within the .iexV few days: Russet Burbank, Idaho llural, Bliss Triumh, Irish Cobbler and Early Ohio.
