Show The Wasatch Academy Field at Mt. Pleasant has been selected foi the Regional Track Meet of Region four. The meet will start promply at 2:00 P. M. Friday May 6th.' Kanab, Panguitch, Circleville, Gunnison, 'Salina, Monroe, Richfield Fphraiin, Manti, North Sanpete and Wasatch Academy have qjualiried .o enter. Judging from past performances onie pretty contests should develop. Long of the Academy, Myers of Pan-jui'i'.ch, Pan-jui'i'.ch, and Ras'mmssen of Richfield wil; provide thrills in the dashes. Long is the boy who shattered ithrea records at the Provo relay last week. Close competition is expected between be-tween Nelson of Wasatch, Nelson of Richfield and Norton of Pan.guitch in the half mile. ' Long, Academy, has been broad jumping consistently over 20 feet, a j mark that, if equalled in the coming meet, should give hini first place. Modeen, Gunnison, is fl'gui.red a probable winner in the javelin. Des-chener. Des-chener. Academy, has the longest ' heave in the shot that has been made in the state this year. Petty, Academy, Acad-emy, winner of the discus at Provo; I Bryan and Guidinger, also of the Academy, and place winnetra in the same event at Provo, are expected to qualify in this event. The relay teams yeem closly match ed with pro'bably winners in doubt. The .southern schools are conceded the pole vaultt and the high jump. Because of the number of men qualified, Regional honors are apt to be won by Panguiteh, Richfield, or Wasatch Academy. |
