Jardine Joins New Cabinet Washington. William M. Jardine of Kansas is now secretary of agriculture, agri-culture, succeeding Howard M. Gore, who retired to take up his duties as governor of West Virginia. The new secretary took the oath at the agriculture agri-culture department before members of the Kansas delegation in congress, and bureau chiefs of the department. He accepted in silence the congratulations congratu-lations of those who crowded about to shake his hand. Then he held an informal reception in the secretary's office.
