Show Home Apple Orchard Is Entitled to Good Care It has been demonstrated all over the country, that It ls possible to grow apples in great perfection If the right attention is given to the trees- year after year. That ls to say, they should receive annually some priming, and both the trees and the fruit buds at certain times should have the correct kind of spraying. The large or commercial apple growers have large, healthy trees, and the fruit is fine in size and quite free from worms. They achieve this by careful working of the ground, annual light pruning and regular scientific spraying. Except when late frosts and freezes prevent, they grow great crops of perfect apples. On farms, where small orchards are the rule, the same care commercial orchardlsts give their ground and trees, will give equally as good results. Until their way of management man-agement is fully put into practice, can the small growers expect healthy trees and perfect fruit? |
