Show Good Plan for Making I Your Own Grid Leak? Some fellows get different results every time they change a grid leak and can't sevrsn to get along without monkeying with this device continu ally. Even the variable leaks don't seem to satisfy them, for they weai out. So here's a scheme for making your own grid leaks, and not such a bad one at that. Take a piece ol fairly hard blotting paper (the kind your tailor gives away and the sort that does not absorb ink so readf.y). soak it In India ink and stand it on the radiator for a while to dry out. In fact, it won't do any harm to leave It in a dry place over night to let the ink dry thoroughly and soak through. Then cut a strip two inches long nnd half an inch wide. Use a washer on each side to make the contact bett r. Cut two or three different widths und you will find one that just suits your particular tube. This sort of leak lasts well, and in widths from one-eighth to one-half inch will cover the usual range of such resistances. Try reveral. New - - vtii |
