Show PIONEER LADY IS LA90 AIJIL REST Mr3. Anne Watkins Seely, a Pio- r.eer resident of this city died Monday Mon-day evening from infirmities incident tc old age. Mrs. Seely -was born in Gilwin, Lanessay, South Wales, May. 22, 18-l 18-l After embracing the L. D. S. faith in her native land she em'pra-cd em'pra-cd to America in 1S65, joining her parents who had emigrated the previous pre-vious year, in Rushdale Pennsylvania ' In ISfiS, ihe family began the ar Muou-, j.i.iraey to Utah part of which ! was made by Oxteam. She arrived in Unit Lake Acgust 29.186S and came to Mt. Pleasant, two days later an.i has resided here ever since. On Nov 'ember 25, 1S68 she was married in 'the Endowment house in Salt Lake to William S. Seely, the ceremony y e'iig performed by the late President Pres-ident Wilford Woodruff. Mr. Seelv died September 16, 1896. She is sur. vived by a son, Alfred Seely, a daughter daugh-ter Mrs. Jessie Petersen, eijht grand children and one great grand child, ill' of Jit. Pleasant. Funo:al services for Mrs. Anne "Seely were held Thursday afternoon after-noon in the South ward chape'l with Bishop A. L. Petersen, , presiding. Prayers were offered by Andrew Lar-;en Lar-;en and Christian Johansen. Solos were s;,, by Mrs. Russell Robertson of Binghaim, and II. G. Ericksen and he ward chior furnished special Music for the services. The speakers speak-ers were Mayoiri Joseph Seely, C. W. Sorensen, and Bishop Petersen who also read a tribute from C. N. Lund of Salt Lake. The grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Mads Anderson. |
