Show Wide Search on for Alaska Flier McGrath, Alaska With airplane and dog team, rescue parties from five Alaska towns mustered for a start into the lower Kuskokwin river country in search of E. G. Young, missing aviator, avia-tor, whose abandoned plane was found early Monday on the ice of Kuskokwin below Kaltagamut. Inquiry at Indian villages near Kaltagamut has revealed no trace of the veteran airman, who left McGrath in the teeth of a storm for Bethel, a hop of 250 miles over one of the most desolate reglonj of tho north. Although Young Is well accustomed ac-customed to the rigorous Alaskan climate, cli-mate, old timers point out that few men can live without food or shelter in the 40 below zero weather which has settled over the Kushokwin. |
