Show Fannie Hurst Wins Story Prize Chicago. Fannie Hurst, the author was awarded a $50,000 prize which the magazine Liberty, in conjunction with the Famous Players-Lasky corporation, cor-poration, offered for a story suitable for Liberty and for a motion picture. The contest is spoken of as the greatest great-est of its kind ever held. Almost one hundred thousand manuscripts and plot synopses were received, coming from virtually every quarter of the globe. John.N. Wheeler, executive editor of Liberty; Jessie L. Lasky and Rex Beach, the novelist were the judges. |
