There are a considerable number of causes of excessive dilution which can be traced not to the oil, but to the maladjustment, and malfunctioning of the fuel supply system. There are several operating conditions condi-tions which tend to cause excessive erankcase dilution, namely: Rich carburetor car-buretor adjustment, excessive use of the choke In starting, excessive idling of the engine, or low engine operating temperatures. When these factors are adequately taken care of and excessive exces-sive dilution still occurs. It Is advisable advis-able to check over the fuel supply system sys-tem to determine whether there is a leaky carburetor flout or a sticky vacuum tank mechanism. |
