Time and Tide. During the War Saving. stamps drive in Brown county, Indiana, AVI1-liam AVI1-liam L. Coffey, county cliairmau, appointed ap-pointed AVilliam A'awter, the artist, as chief solicitor for the county. At- the-time the-time of his appointment Mr. A'awter each morning was walking two' miles to paint the picture of an old elm tree, which was surrounded by wild flowers und beautiful foliage. He readily accepted and for two weeks he put forth all energy in the stamp drive. When the soliciting was completed com-pleted Mr. A'awter took his painting outfit and walked to the old tree, but the scenery had changed so much that the picture will not be completed until un-til next summer, when the wild roses and other wild Ilowers will be in bloom.
