Show w.o.a. - American Expeditionary Forces October 9, 1918. My Dear Mother and All:- Just came back from the front and while there I received your dear letter let-ter which I was glad to get and also glad to know that you are all well as this leaves me. Have surely Been enough of this cruel war to satisfy me and am hoping hop-ing that it will soon end, and think it will before long. Old Fritz is getting get-ting about all he wants. Our boys over here are surely doing good work and deserve all the praise and honor they can get. They are certainly a bunch of brave fellows. Am thankful that I am still on this old mother earth and that I am in good health. There isn't very much that I can write about Mother, only that I am well, but am mighty homesick at times to see you all. I saw a big bunch of German prisoners, some of them very young, also some German cannon and some other booty that our boys have captured. Well Mother 'dear, there is no more news so will close with love. Hoping to hear from you soon, also hoping to soon be home. Give my regards to all the folks. Love to the kiddies. Your loving son, ALONZO CLARK. U' G G |
