Show UTAH STATE FAIR MAMMOTH ARRAY OF EXHIBITS; SENSATIOV AT TO RACES; SPECT A CI LAR W I L D AVUST SHOWS. With bands clashing, flags and bunting glying gaily from every nook and corner of the grounds and buildings build-ings of the Fair Grounds, with every State Fair structure banked to the ceiling with wonderful and beautiful exhibits of gran, fruits, vegetables, live stock and manufactured products, pro-ducts, Utah's Great State Fair is ready. Never in the history of the state have so many sensational amusements amuse-ments and attractions been secured for the Fair; never before has the fair run for ten full days; never before be-fore have such beautiful exhibits been placed in every department. Opening Monday, September 2" Hi, (he fair runs continuously for ten days, up to and including Wednesday, October 6th.. ; Reduced rates have been granted on all railroads and Salt. Lake is in gala attire for the event. Interest among the farmers and stockmen of the intcrmountain west cannot help but center on the wonderful won-derful entries of blooded short-horns and hcrefords in (he cattle department. depart-ment. Seven world-famous herds of cattle have been entered, and in addition ad-dition to these seven herds (liat have been or will be shown at the livestock live-stock show of the Panama-Pacific exposition, ex-position, there are also scores of entries of fine blooded cattle by Utah livestock men. The two big attractions of the fair will be the Irwin's Wild West show, with over 250 head of livestock, and 150 performers, and the 10 or more great 300-horse-power racing anlo-mobiles anlo-mobiles (hat are to be sent around the mile track at the fair grounds for the first (hrec days of the fair. Louis Dishrow, Eddie Hearnc, Lee Gunning, Joe Bianchi, and the olhrr drivers of renown are to pilot the great racing machines and will hp on the grounds early next week getting a line on the track and tuning up their speed creations. Lucielle Belmont, the daring girl balloonist, who is to go aloft daily in a great balloon and to descend to earth in three parachutes, is 'expected 'expect-ed to arrive Thursday, and begin preparations pre-parations for her sensational flights each of the ten days of the fair. A stat-wide "beauty" contest is be-arranged be-arranged in which every girl in the state is expected to participate. Beautiful Beau-tiful prizes of jewelry, handsome gowns, and ot h things dear to feminine hearts will be offered. |
