Show ii . ;- Fairview ; The Wheelright Co., of Ogden secured se-cured the contract for laying the cement ce-ment sidewalks; their bid being the lowest, eleven and one fourth cents being the contract price. Their machinery ma-chinery is being placed on the ground preparatory to crushing the rock and concrete. A number of citizen are also laying lay-ing cement walks around their homes The first automobile to be owned in Fairview was purchased by Pat Young for the Young Brothers, the proprietors of tne Zenith Theatr?. The car is one of the best in the county, a twenty-five horse power Maxwell. Pat says that he believes in enjoying life while he lives for when he is dead he's a long time dead, and furthermore, "It is cheaper cheap-er sporting a car than a wife." Pioneer day will be celebrated in fitting style this year. An excellent program is being prepared and ev-1 ery one expects a fine time. The afternoon program will be a free dance for the children and games at the city park. Miss Sophrona Olson will represent Utah. Christian Peterson Pet-erson will be orator. The Annual meeting of the ladies Literary club was held at the home of Mrs. J. R. Graham July 12th. All members except two were present, also five visitors. The following officers offi-cers were elected for the coming year: President, Mrs. A. U. Miner; Vice-president, Mrs. James P. Larsen; Lar-sen; Secretary, Mrs. Fred Danielson; Corresponding secretary, Mrs. Chas. Peacock; Treasurer, Mrs.. J. R Graham; Gra-ham; Program committee: Mrs. J. R. Earle, Mrs. J. H. Sanderson, and Mrs. Jesse Turpin. Social committee: commit-tee: Mrs. Chas. Peacock, Mrs. H. S. Olson and Mrs. Wm. Christensen. Dainty refreshments were served. Elders Willard Mower and LeRoss Christensen gave talks on their missionary miss-ionary experiences at the Y. L. M. I. A. meeting Tuesday evening. Mrs. Matilda Mower, who has been a widow for nearly twenty years, was married at Salt Lake City last week to Mr. Buchanan formerly of Oregon. They will make their home in Fairview. Mrs. Josephine Helm, who spent the past month visiting friends here returned to her home at Deweyville this week. Mrs. McFarland and her sister, Miss Mortenson of Mona visited Mrs. H. S. Olsen last week. Calvin Jones of Salt Lake City arrived ar-rived here last Sunday. .His family has spent the past month with relatives rela-tives in Fairview. Mrs. Flora Thorpe of Mantrspent a few days visiting friends here. 'Mr. Lional Peterson left Tuesday for P. V. Junction where he goes to accept a position with the R. G. W. ) Railroad, company.
