| Show STORM CAUSES FLOOD. Sunday afternoon a heavy rain poured down over on the hills North West of Mount I'leasant causing a flood down the slupes. At first it was reported that the farmers had sustained verv heavy losses along the river but it is learned that the greatest great-est damage done by the flood was on the farm of Axel Bjelkie where the waters spread out over several acres of grain doing considerable damage and also spoiled a number of loads of hay. As the Bjelkie farm was the first one in the path of the flood it seems to have sustained the heaviest loss. There were others farther down the river that were flooded in parts. The flume in the Moroni Canal on the Bjelkie farm was badly damaged and had to be repaired before water could be run across the wash. There were also other miner losses near Moroni. |
