Show I'll 1 WKKCKKR KSCAPF.S PROVO MKXTAL HOSPITAL Harry G. Hontz. the man who wrecked a wesebound Denver and Kio Grande passenger train at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon August -lilt, and who gave himself up in Salt Lake City and was brought to Provo and on August 23rd was committed to the state mental hospital, has succeeded in making his esecape. His absence w as noticed a short time after supper on the evening of October 13th and when the attendants failed to find him in or around the hospital the sheriff's office was notified and officers offi-cers in adjoining districts have been notified to look out for Hontz. I Hontz is 3 4 years of age and after lie was brought to Provo he confessed to oilier attempts to wreck trains and that he had a mania for wrecking trains in revenge for injuries and injustice in-justice which he alleged had been ' done him by railroad officials and railroad employes. An investigation proved that Hontz made his escape through a window in the chapel. He asked permission of the attendant to go to the chapel for a rehearsal for a play being prepared pre-pared for the feeble minded. Permission Per-mission was granted and Hontz went to the chapel. i Nobody was there and he raised a window and dropped to the ground on the outside. |
