Ball Tournament to be held at the p City Park next Friday and Saturday, September 10th and 11th. r A meetng was held at the Armory lid Hall last Friday and committees 15, were appointed to make all arrange-ments arrange-ments necessary to have a most sue- ( cessful day for the closing ot the ' baseball season. Following are the names of the gentlemen selected to act on the various committees: J. H. Strauss was selected as chairman chair-man of the general committee. There will be three games of ball, foot races, wrestling match, horse races, mounted potato races, Burro races and pony races for which cash prizes will be given. One of the attractive at-tractive features of the event will be the presence of the First Regimental Regimen-tal Band of Utah which will furnish the music and give concerts during the two days. The following program will be carried car-ried out during the tournament: 125.00 prize for the base ball team winning two games out of three. ' 220 yard dash, free for all, $5 & $2.50 10 yard dash, professional . . $10.00 HorBe race, free for all 12.50 Pony race 5.00 Mounted potato race, free for all $5.00 & $2.50 Pie eating contest for boys between be-tween the ages of 12 and 16 $2 & 1 I Burro race $2.50 A purse of $7.50 will be given to the person who rides Tix, the outlaw Bur- iu o minuies. Music at the ball park by the First Regimental Band of Utah. BaBe ball at 4:30 Friday, Septem-j W 10th. Double header on Saturday. Satur-day. The first game will be played at 10 a. m. and the second game at P- m. Entries for horse racing should be made the day before the event is to take place in order that complete arrangements ar-rangements can be made. Nephf and Ephraim will be here with their teams and Mount Pleasant will do their best to make a busy time of the events. Continuous dancing will be enjoyed enjoy-ed by the dancing public both nights t the Armory Hall. |
