Show Miss Bessie Hughes was given a very pleasant kitchen shower at her home Friday evening: by a number of her girls friends. A great many splendid presents were given her. The evening was spent in playing games, talking and enjoying a dainty dain-ty luncheon Those present were: Bessie Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Annie Christensen, Reba Porter, Tressie Johansen, Almeda Stewart, Miss Terry, Inez Hughes, Delia Tid-well Tid-well and Erma Christensen. The members of the N. S. H. S. choir were royally entertained at the High School Monday evening, by their director, Mr. J. M. Boyden. A very unusual and pleasant evening is reported in the way of fun provoking pro-voking games, songs, speeches, etc. A dainty luncheon was served. Miss Bessie Hughes of this city and Mr. Cyrus Stewart of Fairview, were united in marriage at Manti, on Monday. They returned to the home of the brides' mother, Mrs. Hannah Hughes, Tuesday afternoon where a reception was givrn them. A great many useful presents were received by Mr. and Mrs. Stewart. They will make their future home at Fairview. Mrs. Ferdinand Ericksen was hostess hos-tess at a very well arranged Kensington Kens-ington at her home Friday afternoon after-noon in compliment to Miss Florence Ericksen. Music and sewing were enjoyed from 3:30 to 5:30 when an elaborate four course luncheon was served. The place cards were cupids with wedding rings and the table decorations, white and pink carna tions. Those present were: Mrs. Henry Ericksen, Mrs. John Prit chett of Provo, Mrs. Azel Peel, Mrs. George Sorenson, and Misses Florence Flor-ence Ericksen, Tressa Larsen, Elma Noland, Tina Ericksen, Winifred Jensen. Gladys Ericksen, Mi.dred Ericksen and the hostess. The Misses Tina Ericksen and El- ma Noland were hostesses at a Linen Shower at their home Saturday evening ev-ening in honor of Miss Florence Ericksen. The rooms were tastily decorated with sweet peas, smilax and carnations. Music and games, original cook book making and social conversation made a very pleasant evening's entertainment. A beauti ful linen set, consisting of a cloth with one dozen napkins and lunch cloth were presented to the bride elect. Those present were Florence Ericksen, Ida Merz, Tressa Larsen, Viola Whutaker, Mary Peterson, Et ta Rolph, Florence Monsen, Minnie Christensen, Tressie Madsen, Mary Winkler, Ida Larsen, Lucile Barton, Mrs. A. L. Larsen, Mrs. Noland and the hostesses. Mis. R. L. Madsen was hostess of the 20th Cetnury Club on Thursday last. President Mrs. F. C. Jensen called tne session to order. Mrs. P. M. Neilson delivered an excellent essay es-say on "The Home Training of Girls for Wie and Motherhood." Mrs. H. C. Jacobs reviewed the excellent lecture on "England." The synopsis synop-sis and selections from Shakespere's "Twelfth Night" were splendidly given by Mrs. Fannie Miller. Twelve members enjoyed the delicious luncheon lun-cheon during the social hour after adjournment. The Home Culture Club met at the home of Mrs S. E. Jensen Tuesday Tues-day afternoon, April 8th. Miss Lydia Smith was elected a member of the club. Mrs. J. W. McGann gave the lecture. Miss Martin gave the lesson in Art. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. The 0. N. girls were entertained Thursday evening by Virgie Whit lock. Dainty refreshments were served. |
