Miss Fern Watscn was home for a isit with her parents during the spring vacation. She returned to her school work at the University at r'rovo on Sunday, Mrs. F. C. Jensen and her sister Mrs. L. F. Becker of Manti went to Long Beach last Friday. They were called there on account of the illness of their mother who is living at 'hat place at the present time. Mrs. Jensen was not in the best of health and the trip may be a difficult one. Uncle John Carter and R. N. Bennett Ben-nett was in Provo last Friday to attend at-tend the funeral of Moroni L. Pratt, son of Parley P. and Mary Ann Pratt, who died at this home in the first ward of Provo on April 8th. Mr. Pratt was born in Nauvoo, 111., Dec. 6, 1844 and came to Utah with his parents in 1852. His wife, Mrs. Caroline Beebe Pratt, to whom he was married in 1870, died March 27 of this year. He was active in the work of developing the state and held many important offices in his church. Mr. Pratt was ona of the Indian War Veterns and there were about twenty-five of them who attended at-tended the funeral services in a body. His character was rich in deed and spirit and he was a kindly, and sympathetic man. and generally beloved be-loved lor his many good qualities. John H. Seely went to-Black Rock last Saturday to attend to his flocks at that place during the shearing. Chas. Swenson, Lewis Christe sen Chris Thompson, Andrew Jensen, and son Alvin went to Rawlins, Wyoming last Saturday to get employment em-ployment at the shearing corrals at that place.
