Tuesday AVwliws-jdny AVwliws-jdny ami Tliursday of this week. The city of Moroni was our I Treat camp; and extended a warm welcome and threw its gates wide open 'to its distinguished visitors. From Kast and West, Xorth and South they had come to once more grasp the hand of j old time friends and comrades ami exchange those hearty greetings greet-ings which are peculiar 1o old cmiirdes in anus; and here in at tented camp was rehearsed with groat spirit the experiences exper-iences of ilte past and the battles ot those by gone days were there fought over again. The scenes there witnessed can only be appreciated by those ; 'vho have gone through the hardships, the dangers, and troubles ! of those perilous times; they alone can sing with full heart and I soul, "Oli, hard times, come again no more." The attendance ! was very large, considering the extremely busy season of the : ear. The large Tabernacle of Moroni was filled to overflowing at every session. The encampment was honored with a brief visit, Tuesday, of Adjutant-General AYedgewood of the Utah Militia, also Geo. 'larrison of Springville, lively, enthusiastic and ever young was here, swinging his baton and taking charge of the singing. The great feature of the first day was the splendid parade d by three bands, marching through the principal streets of tie city. It was indeed interesting to note the Fife and Drum Corps, nme of whom took their first lessons on these instruments .hen the beat of the drum meant "to arms!" and when its .mnd carried consternation to the hearts of the people, to see hem yet handling these instruments with so much skill and pint their music enlivened all the sessions, 'rogram Wednesday 10 a. m. Captain R. N. Bennett of the ML 'leasant Post was in charge of the meeting in the tabernacle. The mosi oticeable features of the program -ndered at this session were the 1 dress, given from m.-.nuscript, by Anderson of Mt. Pleasant and the ;ceptlonnlly fine rendering of "My .addie," an Indian love song, by Mist. ranees Jensen. A short, address as also made by Pres. C. N. Lund. The afternoon session opened at o'clock p. m.. (leo. Carter of Foun-ain Foun-ain Green presiding. The main .arts of the program were addresser ,y Pres. Lewis Anderson and Judge Ibert Christensen of Manp, pie tine inging of the Coombs Sisters ol ountain Green and the excellent endering by Mr. Mikkelsen of Foun-ain Foun-ain Croon of a recitation entitled The Red Man's Plea," composed by aptnin Nephi Robertson. Wednesday they met, the vlc-ors vlc-ors of the previous day and suffered lefeat. Thursday the game was between Moroni and. Ephraini, the latter being thd winner. Two exciting horse races were puUd off Wednesday. A Neph horse was the fastest in the one. am: in he other a Moroni horse was the winner. Thursday bad three horse races, ri.e horse owned by S. M. Petersen, was the winner in two, and a Neph: horse was the winner in the other. In the harness race between Salin; .ind Mayfleld, the Mayfield horse won the first heat and the Salina horsi ihe second.
