Show 1T1T There is perhaps no section of our state where better opportunities op-portunities are offered today for homeseekers than what is known as the ""Uintah Basin" in the eastern part of Du-schene Du-schene County (formerly Wasatch County), to settle and build up homes, why not first ascertain what our own state has yet to offer in that line. Idaho may be a very good state, likewise, Oregon, and some even prefer to go beyond the boundaries of the United States and live in a foreign land under a foreign flag, while there are yet in this splendid state of ours as good opportunities as can well be found anywhere on the face of the globe. , In the Uintah Basin good farming land with good water right sells today from $15 to $20 per acre. The soil in gen eral is rich and fertile, well adapted for grain and fruit. Coal and wood are there in abundance, also timber and as-phaltum as-phaltum in great quantities and an unexaustable supply of water, a good climate and more days of sunshine in the year than in most any other part of the country. jThis section sec-tion is of course for the most part undeveloped, but it gives great promise of being in the near future one of the very choicest parts of our state. Roosevelt and Dushene are two of the principal towns in the basin. The railroad is within 65 miles and there is a prospect of a road being built soon that will connect this section with the rest of the state. Before you go to Idaho, to Oregon or Canada in search of new homes would it not be well first to aquaint yourselves with the opportunities offered right at home ? It is strange but it still seems true that "distance lends enchantment to the view." People come from other parts of the country and settle here and think themselves happy to have the chance, while many of the people who are bom and raised in Utah fail to appreciate the advantages offered at homo but are attracted at-tracted by something even inferior in distant places. n |
