Show GOLDiE NEILSON GAINS FAME IN BREADJAKING Miss Goldie Xeilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Neilson of this city received serond prize at the Utah State Fair for good bread making. Miss Ettie Yepson of Gunnison was awarded first prize for the loaf which she baked and a girl from Ogden received re-ceived third. The judges gave Miss Xeilson TS credits out of a possible DM). The young lady who received first prize was given So credits. The merits upon which he judges based the quality of the bread were for liaking 2U, Lightness Light-ness I'd. Texture 15, color 10, Flavor Flav-or 20 and shape 15, making a total of 100. Following is the manlier in which the merits of the first and second loaves were counted: First Second IS Baking 16 18 Lightness 10 12 Texeure 11 0 Color 9 ltf Flavor 17 12 Shape 7 S5 Total 7S We have given the full report of the points counted in order that the young girls of this community may know what constitutes a good loaT of bread. Since Domestic Science is being taught in the schools there has been much interest taken among the girls in the making of good bread. Much credit is due young girls who make an effort along this line of work. |
