Show i ' i Qfh Grade Program The Commencement Exercises Exer-cises of the Sanpete County Public Schools were held at Moroni Wednesday, May 26, 1915. The field events began at 10 m. The graduating exercises exer-cises were held at 2 p. m. in the Moroni Tabernacle. The following program was given: Selection by the Moroni School Orchestra ' ' Wo o d Mumps. ' ' 1 Invocation: Joseph L. Jolly Girls Chorus: "Mother's Love and 0 Wert Thou in the Cauld Blast. ' ' by the Star Class of Gunnison. Words of WTelcome: Myrtle Dye of Moroni. Vocal Solo: "I Didn't Raise My Boy to be a Soldier ' ' by Edith Willardson of Mav-field. Mav-field. Reading: "The One Legged Goose" by Ritel Seely of Mt. Pleasant. Chorus: "The Fountain" by Wales Class. Address: "Good Citizen ship" by State Superintendent E. G. Gowans. Vocal Solo: "A Dream" by Louis Allred. Boys' Chorus: "A Commencement Com-mencement Song" by Spring-City. Spring-City. Awarding of Diplomas by the Principals. Cornet Solo: Cyrus Nelson accompanied by Whitting. Valedictory : Philo Farns-worth Farns-worth of Manti. Girls Chorus: "Fairies Revel Rev-el " by Fairview. Benediction: Jabez Faux, Jr. of Moroni. This was one of the most successful year's experience in the public schools of Sanpete County. There were more than 320 students who successfully success-fully completed the course prescribed pre-scribed by the Public Schools of the state. People from the various towns who attended the exercises exer-cises were loud in their praises of the splendid treatment which they received from the people of Moroni. The field events were closely contested. Spring City and Mt. Pleasant scored very close with Spring City slightly in the lead. Laben Gunderson was the star of the athletic field, winning win-ning first place in all the events he entered except one. - |
