A few scales drop of: and fall by the wayside, but the' are just scales and are o.uite withou value. And so it is with us as a n tion. When the country is threatened and our president speaks in no uncertain un-certain terms all political differences vanish and we become welded to gether as one people, with eyes to the front and hats off to the starry flag. That is, all but a few aliens who criticise the government and traduce the hand that gives them food and shelter and furnishes them an asylum asy-lum from the poverty and injustice of foreign nations. But they, too, are the scales and are without value to our country. |
