Show SUGAR FACTORY NOW OFFERED TOJANPETE Committees Appointed to Secure Necessary Acreage Acre-age of Beets. As a result of the faithful efforts put forth by members of the Commercial Com-mercial club during the past few weeks Sanpete county has been promised pro-mised a sugar factory by George K. llrowning of Ogden, N. G. Stringliain and Samuel Stark of Salt Lake City together with their associates. The men who have been foremost in this movement, and who have spent almost their entire time in getting get-ting the people of the county to see that this is the opportune time to get : great iiul.istry established in this beautiful valley, are C. T. Drage. lohn Gunderson and Bent R. Hansen. H. C. Beauniann and G. R. Nilson have also been very active in helping in .the movement, and with the assistance as-sistance of the Pyramid, much has been accomplished In bringing success suc-cess to the farmers. One of the most successful business busi-ness meetings ever held in Sanpete county, wherein every man from every ev-ery town represented, had but one desire in his heart and that being for the progress of this great commonwealth, common-wealth, was held at the Elite Banquet Hall Wednesday evening. B. Neilson of Ephraim: and a host f the leading men of this community. commun-ity. The business transacted here was very thorough. The factory men guaranteed to begin operations as soon as they were assured the people peo-ple of Sanpete county would grow 5000 acres of beets for the factory. An estimate was forecast for the amount of acreage each town could easily secure and it was apportioned as follows: Moroni 1200 Spring City 00 Chester 4 , Ephraim 500 ' Fountain Green 300 .( Fairview 600 Wales 200 Manti 300 Gunnison 500 Mount Pleasant 1000 Total 5400 Committees were appointed to secure se-cure the acreage in each town and they are to report daily to Mr. Drage so that the general committee can quickly report to the factory men that the 5000 acres have been secured. The factory' men want to know by Julv 10. The committee at Mount Pleasant reported 300 acres contracted yester-dav, yester-dav, it being the first day's work. A meeting" w ill be held by the Com-meijcial Com-meijcial club Saturday evening. A larjje attendance is requested by the officers of the club. |
