Show FAIRVIEW j Fairview will have a grand cele-J cele-J bration on the fourth of July. An ! able committee has been appointed ! They expect a real patriotic time. ' The following program has been irranged for Ju'y 4th at Fairview: Salute at day bveak by Peter II. Ilan-'('11, Ilan-'('11, Captain of Artillery. The choir and three bands will serenade the streets from 5 o'clock until 8 a. m. Miss Coquella Jones will represejit the Goddess of Liberty with Leah Sanderson, Nora Chrislensen, Laura i'.ills and 11a Uigby as attendants. Miss Lucile Peterson will represent lHah with six small boys and six small girls as attendants. Meeting .'H commence at 10 o'clock a. m. at which tlu, following program will be rendered: Song - Choir Prayer, Chaplain - Burns Cox Girls Chorus - Maud Christcnsen i rid Company Speech - Goddess of Liberty Duet - Young Brothers Oration - Dr. D. G. Edmunds Vocal Solo - Mrs. Beth Poulson Comic Speech - Ezekiel Cheney Mixed Quartette - H. P. Hansen and Company Speech - Utah Piano Solo - Miss Chloe Miner Speech - Uncle Sam (John Mower) Overture - Band A childrens dance will be given at I o'clock, free to all. At three o'clock there will be games and races at the City Park. A ball game between Fairview and the Capital Electric Supply Co. will take place at 4 o'clock. A grand ball will be given o finish the day's sports. Born, to the wife of Dr. Edmunds, June 24th, a girl. Mrs. John Vance is visiting her brother at Ogden. Miss Margaret Gj;eco of Richfield is the guest of Miss Minta Norman. Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Cheney and Ihcir boys are rejoicing over the ar ival of a baby girl June 26th., Mrs. Ellen Nordstrom returned last week from Idaho where she has -spent the past two months. Mrs. Matilda Brady and family went to Mammoth this week to join her husband who is at work there. Mrs. Henry Poulson of Richfield visited in Fairview the past two weeks with her mother, Mrs. James C. Peterson. Mrs. Cynthia Mower Edwards died at Sunnyside July 1st and will be brought to Fairview for interment. She leaves three daughters and two ions all grown except one. Mis. Wm. Garlic, Jr. also gave a shower in honor of Miss Brady June 21st. A number of young men and young ladies were present. An ex-jcllent ex-jcllent luncheon was served and a merry time spent. Newel Cox of Fairview and Miss Ilea Day of Castledale and Mr. Ira "ox and Miss Nettie Brady both of .'ainiew were married in the Salt Lake Temple Wednesday June 24th. They are among our popular young people and wo wish them success in heir new venture. A bundle shower was given in hon- or of Miss Nettie Brady at the home ! of Misses Helena and Fern Chrislensen Chrislen-sen June 19th. About twenty of her lady friends were present. A number num-ber of handsome presents were given. Refreshments were served and a pleasant afternoon spent. The officers and members of the Relief Society took picnic and visited a number of old and sick members who cannot get to meeting, last Monday Mon-day instead of their regular work meeting. Short meetings were held at each place visited and the sisters cheered and comforted them with songs and speeches. The ladies Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. James .11. Sanderson Sander-son July 1st. A paper, "Safe and Sane Fourth of July," was given by Mrs. Chas. Peacock. A paper on "Care of the Teeth" was given by Mrs. Nellie Carlston. There was also al-so a vocal solo by Mrs. Geneva Lar-sen. Lar-sen. Nine ladies enjoyed the social hour and refreshments served. |
