Show pillSWATSON IS CALLED BY DEATH A sad death of this week was that, of littlePhyllis Chloe Watson, daughter daugh-ter of John J. Watson of this city. She was 16 years old and had been suffering from heart trouble for several sev-eral years, her death being due to this ailment. -Lately she had been thought to be growing somewhat stronger but the end came suddenly Sunday evening between 5 and 6 o'clock. The little girl was a ver. promising child and it is indeed too bad that her death should be so untimely. un-timely. The entire community, we are sure, joins us in extending to the family our most heart-felt sympathy. Funeral services were held from the North Ward Chapel Wednesday afternoon. The house was completely complete-ly filled. Following are the speakers: speak-ers: Arthur O. Neilson, Daniel Ras-mussen Ras-mussen and Bishop H. C. Jacobs who presided. "Sometime We'll Understand" Under-stand" was sung by the ward choir and "eautiful Isle of Somewhere" was sung by Phyllis' class-mates from the central school. Miss Mabel Borg also sang a beautiful solo. The opening prayer was given by Pres. A. Merz and the closing prayer by J. W. Anderson. Interment was made In the City cemetery, the grave being dedicated by Christian Johansen. Phyllis leaves behind, her father, a sister, Saphronia, and a brother, Thomas, her mother having preceded preced-ed her to the grave eight years. She Is also survived by her grand-mother, Mrs. Johannah H. Anderson, who was an affecionate lover of the little girl. |
