Show Beantiiication Program Has Many Telling Benefits Here Under the direction of Mark Nichols, state director of Voca- ; tional agriculture, a beautifica- . tion program has been conducted in North Sanpete. Three adult ! classes in vocational agriculture , were begun the first of the year, drawing members from Fair-view, Fair-view, Spring City, Mt. Pleasant, : Moroni, Fountain Green and Wales, and consisting of 250 members. 2125 rose busehes ' iwere ordered by the group, of I which 225 were used in the Fair-I Fair-I view rose garden, 200 in the rose garden in Spring City, and the balance divided" among class members. Three towns in the district are competing for the state beautification award which is to be presented, for towns of less than 1000 inhabitants. An award of S100.00 will be presented present-ed to one of the three, Fountain Green, Wales and Spring City, as recognition for the best clean-up campaign, and S125.00 to the individual in-dividual who has made the most improvement in his home and grounds. Mr. Nichols was in Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Tuesday and Wednesday to meet with the Board of Education Educa-tion for North Sanpete School District and complete plans for standardization of the vocational program, which has at present three divisions, future farmers, young farmers, and veterans, from ages 18 to 30. |
