Show Wasatch News By Donna Young Mr. John Gray, history instructor, in-structor, and his wife have gone back to Iowa because of Mr. Gray's illness. A basketball game with Millard Mil-lard is scheduled to be played here this Friday. Following the theme of "Thanks Be To God" Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing was celebrated with a Praise Service Wednesday evening, eve-ning, dinner in the dining room Thanksgiving Day and a musical musi-cal that evening. Included in the Praise Service were: six speeches on different reasons why we give thanks; several numbers by the choir;'' two vocal numbers by Miss Charlotte Warren and the ladies trio; and an organ solo by Miss Grace Mae Sample. Dinner Thursday afternoon was topped off with the wit of .Mr. Ralph S. Gunn, toastmaster, short speeches on "Thanks Be to God" for abundance of harvest, opportunities, health and faith, also several musical numbers. Combined vocal ensembles, Jr. high chorus, violin ensenmbl;s, vocal soloists, piano soloists, iviolin soloists and Girls Glee Ciub contributed music for the evening recital Thursday. Mr. Dorst Newhouse has taken over the history classes. The eighth in the "Youth Speaks" series of broadcasts sponsored by station KSVC, Richfield will be given by the Wasatch Academy student body with Mary Marie Mellor, Snow College senior, Manti, acting as moderator. Miss Mellor and Joseph W. Crane, Snow College speech instructor, in-structor, were in Mt. Pleasant Thursday of last week planning with the Wasatch students the details of the panel discussion which is on the subject "What Shall We Read?" They returned to Mt. Pleasant Tuesday for additional ad-ditional planning with the Wasatch Wa-satch speakers. Miss Lucy A. Phillips, Snow College English faculty, is assisting Miss Mellor with the script. Howard Fogelberg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Fogelberg of Mt. Pleasant, is attending West minster college at Salt Lake city. A graduate of Wasatch Academy, Acad-emy, Howard has reported to his parents that he is thoroughly enjoying his studies afthe Sal't |
