Show Three Sanpete Communities Place Among Top Five In Safety Report Although Eureka, Juab county, listed less traffic accidents in 1949 per 1,000 population than any other city in Utah with between be-tween 2,000 and 3,000 population, Sanpete county placed three towns among the top five for this class. That information was shown in a report issued this week by the Utah Safety council on last year's accident rate. Second to Eureka in the 2,000-3,000 2,000-3,000 population class was Eph-ratm Eph-ratm with 3.34 traffic accidents per 1,000 population. Eureka had only 2.18 accidents per 1,000 population. Mt. Pleasant was third with 5.18; Helper was fourth with 6.33 and making the third Sanpete community in the "Safest Five" was Manti with 6.61 accidents per 1,000 population. Midvale was twelfth and at the bottom of the 2,000-3,000 group with 22.95 accidents" per 1,000 population. None of the 12 communities listed in this class showed a fatal traffic accident acci-dent in 1949, the report showed. Best safety record in the 5,000 to 10,000 population class was set by Tooele with 8.62 per 1,000 population. Best record in the 3,000 to 5,000 class and for all classes, as well, j was Park City's 2.14, it was indicated indi-cated by the report. |
