Show jOtto Johansen Has A Pix Of Oldest Building In Mt. Pleasant In 1909 An authentic note from the past was sounded this week by Otto Johansen as he showed Pion-er Day celebrants a picture pic-ture he had dug out of his collection col-lection in honor of this year's March 4 celebration. It is a photograph of what was the oldest building in Mt. Pleasant way back in 1909. A frame and log affair, the building build-ing was located on the corn:! now occupied by the Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Drug store, Mr. Johansen ex plained. According to a note on tin picture, one of Mr. Johansen'.-real Johansen'.-real treasures, the building was destroyed by pleasure seeker? in 1909. "The pleasure seekers," Mr. Johansen explains, "were cele-ebrating cele-ebrating the election f a member mem-ber of their party to the office of president of the U.S. "Let's see, now," he continues, "that was the year Woodrow Wilson was elected." |
