Show New Farm "Talkies" Flense Large Crowd Something like 300 people enjoyed en-joyed "Hidden Treasures" and a well-rounded program of talking, talk-ing, pictures, presented last Monday Mon-day by Jewel M. Peterson, local Keystone "Red Brand" dealer. More than 4,000 feet of sound-film sound-film was shown through the courtesy of the Keystone Steel and Wire Company of Peoria, Illinois. Feature of the program was the drama "Hidden Treasures" Treas-ures" an entertaining, absorbing story of farm success that was, at the same time, full of practical and helpful ideas on soil-handling and profitable 'farming methods. Good stock-tight fences, rotation of crops, legumes and livestock proved to be the secret of "Hidden Treasures" in the soil. "Modern Steel and Wire Mills" was particularly interesting and educational. In this film, steel was traced through the great Keystone mills, from molten stream pouring from huge open hearth furnaces, to finished wire, fence, nails and other products. Added attractions on the full two-hour program of sound pictures pic-tures were the popular "Hoosier Hot Shots" playing, singing and clowning at a real old-fashioned "barn warming" and a funny animated ani-mated cartoon comedy. Following the show, attendance attend-ance prizes were awarded to: First prize, Carol Farley, received re-ceived a roll of wire fencing. Second prize, Mrs. Duane Jensen, Jen-sen, Can't Sag gate irons. Third prize, Mrs. Fred Spens, a gallon of paint. |
