Show Spring City Venerable Man Honored Sat. John T. Blain, one of the active ac-tive and progressive citizens oi this community will become eighty-five years of age Saturday, Satur-day, October 22. Mr. Blain was bom at bpnng City, October 22, 1864 oi pioneer parents. He married Christena Peterson in July 1SS4. They have reared a family fam-ily of five girls. Mrs. Blain passed away during the past summer. From a very humble beginning begin-ning he succeeded in becoming one of the most successful cattlemen cat-tlemen in the community and at the same time he was the town's barber, being well known in this capacity through out the region, continuing in this business for 45 years. He then invested in the grocery business where his aim was to be of the most service to , the people. He served in various capacities capaci-ties in the church and filled a mission to the Western States. He has spent his entire life of service in this community and has helped promote civic enterprises. enter-prises. He retired from his business eleven eyars ago but is still interested in public and church affairs. His five daughters are Mrs. Grace Fullmer, Mrs. Ethel Larsen, Lar-sen, Spring City, Mrs. Vera Sorensen, Iosepa; Mrs. Erma Williams, Salt Lake city and Mrs. Blanche Wellis, Altadena. Calif. There are 16 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren. The family met Sunday to observe the occasion. Mrs. Willis Wil-lis of California was also in attendance with other family members.
