Hope of the House Committee on Agriculture Agri-culture announced this week that the committee will complete com-plete its field hearings on long-range long-range agricultural policy with a swing throueh the Western and Mountain states during the period of the Easter recess of Congress. Hearings have been scheduled at Salt Lake City, Tuesday, March 23, he said. Hearings were originally scheduled for last fall but had to be cancelled when the scheduled sched-uled series of field hearings on long-range policy was interrupted inter-rupted by the President's call for a special session of Congress. The objective of the remaining remain-ing four hearings will be the same as that of the ones already held, Chairman Hope said, to give working farmers from every part of the country an opportunity oppor-tunity to present to the committee com-mittee in their own words their idea on the kind of long-range policy which should be adopted by Congress to guide and assist American agriculture. |
