Show Stockmen Study Results Of Peterson Brothers Sale Results of a stock sale held last week at the Peterson Broth- ers Ranch, five miles west of Ogden, v. ere being discussed this j week by livestock buyers as in-: in-: dication of the trend buying i ; currently taking. J Fifty-nine bulls sold for SC5,-'300 SC5,-'300 or an average of S39S.31. 22 females sold for SS.290 or an average of S377.00. A total oi SI head sold, brought S43,590, ' or an average of S53S.00 People from 10 states attended the sale. Those represented wer: Utah, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Colorado. Nevada, California Nebraska, Wyoming and North Dakota. The top bull, Domino Lad 78th sold to Vard Hoggan of Grace Idaho for $1550.00. The top female fe-male went to Willard Gardne-of Gardne-of Arthur, Nevada at $725.00. This female was Helmsman Lady 1st. Domino Lad 76th was thc second top bull and went to J. E. Coffman and Sons of Broken Bow, Nebr. at $1500.00. Other top selling bulls were Superior Mischief 59th, who went to the Quarter Circle Five Ranch, at Daniel, Wyo. for $1260.00 and Domino Truemold, a 1947 youngster sold to Snell Swenson of Spanish Fork, Utah for $1000 The second top female went tc Yukus Inouye of American Fork Utah. The contending bidder or. this beautiful Lady Domino 27th that sold for $685, was Dr. Mad sen, who was bidding for th.f Utah Agricultural College. The buyer of the greatest numbers was Maurice Ellison of Alberta, Canada, who was buying buy-ing for the Ellison Ranchinr Company of Tuscarora, Nevada He purchased 15 range bulls. Other buyers of large numberr were Jim Mickelson of Big Piney, Wyo., Burton Robinson of Ely, Nevada, and Leslie Cox, of thc Monitor Ranch at Austin, Nev. The cattle were sold by Colonel H. B. Sager of Bozeman, Montana He was assisted in the ring by Forrest Bassford of the Western Livestock Journal, Los Angeles; Walt MeKelvie of the Denver Record Stockman, Denver; Merlin Clark of the Utah Farmer, and Lincoln Thompson, of the Stockman's Stock-man's Review, both of Salt Lake i City. |
