Show 200 Attend Boy Scont Banquet, February 22nd More than 200 persons attended at-tended the Boy Scout banquet held at the Mt. Pleasant South ward recreation hall last Saturday Sat-urday evening, February 22nd. The banquet is held annually by the Mt. Pleasant troops for the purpose of raising funds for Scout use. Robert Fowles was general chairman of the affair and was' assisted by the bishops of the two wards. Jay Winkelman and Leo C. Larsen. Scouts, Scoutleaders. parents of Boy Scovts and friends from Wasatch academy and the North and South ward troops were in attendance. LeRoy Whitehead, chairman of organization orga-nization and extension of the Utah National Parks Council, was guest speaker. Other officials offi-cials attending included Roge: Hansen, member of the troop committee, Wasatch academy; H. C. Jacobs, representative of Utah National Parks Council: Clifford F. McKinney, sectional president; O. V. Anderson, sectional sec-tional chairman, camping and activity committee; J. Seymour Jensen, sectional commissioner; Jay Winkelman, chairman of troop committee, North ward; Paul Stolz, troop leader, Wasatch Wa-satch academy; Franklin Elser, member of troop committee at Wasatch academy, and the Rev. Erwin Bollinger, member of the troop committee at Wasatch Wa-satch academy. The program, outlined by Louise Christensen and Louise Johansen, was given in two parts. While the guests were assembling a program of organ music, four numbers from a mixed quartet directed by E. B. Terry of North Sanpete high school faculty, was presented. The second part of the pro " gram, presented during the banquet, was as follows: Flag ceremony, directed by Earl J. Ursenbach; invocation, Harold Winkler; community singing, led by Mrs. Opal Scovil; musical musi-cal number with guitar and singing, Russell Giles; accordian solo, Joe Jensen; two numbers from Wasatch academy; vocal solo, Wally Beck; vocal duet, Mary Hafen and Rex Hafen, toast, "To Leadership", Paul Peel; vocal solo, Ralph Haten; instrumental duet, Joseph Bag-nall Bag-nall and Morris Seely; vocal solo, Lois J. Nichols. The banquet was under di rection of Leora Johansen, with Magdalene Allred and Leota Anderson assisting. The table decorations were by Eathel Winkelman, Win-kelman, Florence Bagnall, Ethe! Ericksen, Virginia McGuggir and the Gleaner Girls. LeRoy Hatch was chairman of the ticket committee and Shirley Johansen was chairman of advertising |
