Show j Funeral Held Here Monday For Mrs. Christensen Mrs. Francis Elizabeth Ellison Christensen, 67, 633-13th East, Salt Lake City, widow of Dis-,'tnct Dis-,'tnct Judge George Christensen, I Price, Utah's oldest active juris prior to his death, died Friday at 9:4d p. m. in a Salt Lake hospital. hos-pital. I She was born at Nephi, June 7, IS (9, a daughter of John VV and Mary Armanda Miller Ellison. Elli-son. She was active in civic and church affairs, having served in every capacity, of the Relief society, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from organist to stake president. presi-dent. Mrs. Christensen was a charter char-ter member of Price Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and after leaving Nephi she resided in Mt. Pleasant, Ephraim and Manti Man-ti prior to moving to Price in 1921. She had resided in Salt Lake Pitv cinfa lairr . T Mrs. Christensen was married mar-ried to the judge October 1, 1902 in Salt Lake L. D. S. temple, tem-ple, and during the jurist's years on the bench she assisted him in the naturalization and Americanism program his court conducted in Price. Surviving are a son and daughter, Harold E. Christensen Wilmette, Illinois, and Mrs Florence C. Kennedy,' Salt Lake City; a step-son and stepdaughter, step-daughter, Dr. George Q. Chris- " tenser, Oakland and Mrs. Ethel Barton, Salt Lake City; four brothers, John W. Ellison, San Francisco; James K. Ellison Nephi; A. D. Ellison, Portland, and Earl Ellison, Wilmington, California; two sisters, Mrs. Mame Cox, Shoshone, Idaho, and Mrs. Ruby Stimpson. Ogden Og-den and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the Mt. Pleasant L. D. S. ward chapel with Leo Larsen, bishop, presiding. Ethel Porter played the pre liminary music on the organ. quartet, A. L. Peterson, Georg Squire, Opal Scoville and Alta Jensen sang "Sometime We'll '. Understand", after which H. G. Ericksen offered the openinp prayer. An organ solo, "Perfect "Per-fect Day" was played by Florence Flor-ence N. Bagnall. President A. H. Belliston of Nephi was the first speaker. The quartet then sang "Lead Me Gently Home". President S. M. Neilson was the next speaker. A vocal solo "Sylvia" was then sung by Ralph Hafen. Mrs. Alice P. Hafen then sang "Sweet Mystery of Life". The closing prayer was given by Wilford Belliston of Nephi. The grave was dedicated by O. M. Aldrich. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant city cemetery. |
