Show Moroni Mayor, Council Plan Sidewalks Work will begin at once, ac cording to Mayor Charles Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, on construction of a sidewalk from the Moroni Stake seminary building to the south corner of that block. The sidewalk side-walk was recently destroyed in land leveling work done by heavy caterpillars, which leveled the lot just south of the seminary semin-ary building in preparation for the construction of Moroni high schoolis new gym to be built there in the spring. Mayor " Christensen said the work is to be done at the expense expen-se of the city. Clark Ivory has been given the contract for the job. The new sidewalk will be of concrete and will be five feet wide. The Moroni City council is now making a survey of city streets to find which ones carry the greatest amount of traffic and which ones are in worst need of repair? The survey is being made to determine which streets should be considered first for oiling. 1 According to Mayor Charles Christensen, twelve blocks of Moroni's streets will be gravelled gravel-led this fall and oiled next spring, in a program which will be paid for out of the B and Z road fund. There will be no assessment as-sessment levied on property owners. Mayor Christensen also stated that plans are going forward to gravel the Moroni-Wales-Chester road this fall and it is expected ex-pected that it will be oiled in the sprina. |
