Show I SPRING CITY I By Special Correspondence ' Mr. Alfred Nielsen announces the marriage of his daughter, La Rue Neilsen to Keith E. Hamilton, Hamil-ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hamilton of Milburn. The ceremony cere-mony was performed July 9th at Manti. The bride wore a dress of light blue mesh with copper aecesories. The young couple will make their home in Salt Lake City. The young bride was honored at a shower Friday evening, July 12, by her sister, Mrs. Evelyn Acord. Numbers on the program were. Vocal solo, by Miss Mary Hal'en of Mt. Pleasant; piano solo, Miss Lu Dean Amundsen of Fairview; musical reading. Mrs. Ruby Allred, accompanied by Mrs. Doyle Olsen; reading, Mrs. Vilate Hope. Mrs. Helen Madsen had charge of the games for the evening. Mrs. Earldean Clark had charge of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Allred received re-ceived word that their son, Ned has now been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Ned is on the Island of Adak in the Aleutian cahin. Mr. and Mrs. Warner Major. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Major of Salt Lake City visited Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Major. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hansen are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Hansen. Elwood El-wood has . recently been discharged dis-charged from Service. Miss Carma Watson, employed in Salt Lake City, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Watson. Mr. Gilbert Nyberg has returned return-ed home after a visit in Salt Lake City with his children. . Mrs. Maxine Petersen, of Ephraim Eph-raim recently visited her mother, Mrs. John F. Justesen and a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Winona Allred. Mrs. Stella Allred returend to her home in Preston, Nevada Saturday after a week's visit with her mother in Spring City. She came to attend the funeral services serv-ices of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Maud Larsen in Provo. Attending the family reunion in the mountains the past week of William Terry of Fairview, were Bishop and Mrs. E. B. Terry, Darwin, Eugene, Golden Dean and Carol of this city, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Terry of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Acord and family fam-ily of Ogden, and Capt. and Mrs. Don Rue Hickman and children of Reno, Nevada. The out of town visitors also stayed in this c c j 1 :.. parents, Bishop and Mrs. E. B. Terry. The family of Mrs. Kathrine Thompsen will observe her eighty-second birthday this week at her home. She was born in Serritslev Hjor-ring, Hjor-ring, Denmark. July 15, 1864. She married Christian Thompsen in 1887 in Denmark. He came over here a year or two before she did. He snet money for Mrs. Thompsen, Thomp-sen, and a sister, Mrs. A. C. Jensen of Canada to some here. Mrs. Jensen is the only relative coming to this country. Mr. and Mrs. Thompsen have reared a family of five children, N. Chris Thompsen of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Pearl Blain of Clear Field, Utah; Fergus Thompsen of Texas; Major, Charles A. Thompsen Thomp-sen and Mrs. Olga Black of this city. There are 14 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Jensen of Alta Canada, and Mr. and Mrs. Eanier Jensen, also of Canada, have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Thompsen, Major and Mrs. Chas. A. Tohmpsen and Mr. and Mrs. Angus Black. Mr. David V. Hyde came from Los Angeles, California to visit his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Justesen. Mr. Hyde had been away from the home town 27 years. He found so many of the old friends gone and a great many changes in the old town. Mr. and Mrs. Justesen accompanied ac-companied his through Yellowstone Yellow-stone National Park. Thousands of tourists were there to watch "Old Faithful." Mr. and Mrs. Russell Beck and small son, Bruce of Draper, Utah were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Justesen Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith of Pleasant Grove visited Saturday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Allred. Mr. and Mrs. Orthell Allred are the proud parents of a baby boy. This is their fourth child and second boy. Both mother and baby are reported doing nicely. They are at the hospital in Mt. Pleasant of Dr. G. B. Madsen. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Allrd of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Larsen, David and Larry of Fair-view Fair-view visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reid H. Allred. The entire family celebrated the fourth birthday of David. Mr. and Mrsl Frank Acord, Mrs. Mary E. Acord and Mr. and Mrs. Reid H. Allred visited Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Acord at Nephi. Mrs. Mary E. Acord and Miss Lenore Allred spent a week visiting visit-ing in Nephi at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Acord. Mrs. Mable Beck visited the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stubbs in Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Beck in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Von Johansen and family have moved from here to Chester. Mr. Thomas Baxter and son of Salt Lake City have been visiting relatives in this city, j Mr. Alfred Larsen and small ' son, are visiting Mrs. May Larsen of tihs city. Alfred has been employed em-ployed by the Navy the past two years and spent a lot of that time stationed in the Hawaiian Islands. Is-lands. Mr. an Mrs. Virgus Osborne have received word their son, I Connell Osborne, stationed in Fu-E Fu-E kuoka, Japan, has been promoted from T5 to T!4 which is equivi-lent equivi-lent to a Sergeant. He is file clerk in the Headquarters Department De-partment there. Joe McGerty and Jack Turner have been home on leave from the Navy. They received their boot training at San Diego, California Cali-fornia and report back there, j The following ladies held a 1 surprise party Wednesday afternoon after-noon at the home of Mrs. Effie Allred in her honor. They were, Mrs. Eva J. Allred, Mrs. Ella Carlson, Mrs. Dorcus Blain, Mrs. Myrtle Allred, Mrs. J Grace B. Allred, Mrs. Ada Allred, Mrs. Rhea Wallcrstein, Mrs. Van- M da Petersen. Mrs. Ruth Osborne, Mrs. Mary E. Acord, Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte Schofiel.l. Mrs. Anenia All-redd, All-redd, Mrs. Mary Finell and Miss .Manett Allred. The afternoon was spent in playing rook and delicious refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed. |
