Show i ; ; I MORONI 1 I By Specal Corespondence Calvin Sorenson and Esley Christenson of the U. S. Service have both received an honorable discharge . and are happy to be at home again. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Plonker and young son, Miss Grace Christenson Christen-son and friend, all of Los Angeles spent two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Christenson and family fam-ily at Moroni. Mr. and Mrs. Elmor (Bud) Hill of Nephi, Utah are the proud parents par-ents of a baby boy born on July 10th at the Dice hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Justen Nelson announce an-nounce the marriage of their son, Don Jay, to Miss Lois Braithvvaite of Manti, Utah on July 6th at Salt Lake City. A most delightful delight-ful shower was given in their honor on Monday evening in Manti where several relatives and friends from Moroni were in atendance. They plan to make their home in Salt Lake City. They have the best wishes of their many relatives and friends here for a long and happy married mar-ried life. 1 Mrs. Annie Nielson has .iust returned re-turned from an enjoyable trip. While away she visited at Po- catcllo, Idaho with her son, A. E. Nielson, wile and family and also al-so attended a session in the Idaho Ida-ho Falls Temple. She then went to Loppenish, Washington and visited with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Stafford Staf-ford and while there was the guest of two grand daughters, Mr. and Mis. Kent Robinson at -Seattle and Mr. and Mrs. William Whitt at Rakima, Washington. While at Loppinish her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Christrnsen and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Christenson took her on a trip to Oregon whore she visited at her brother's home, also with his two sons, Robert and Dean, as well as a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester E. Shimi-neals Shimi-neals at Scio, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Christenson at Mill City, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Christenson Chris-tenson at Mahana, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christenson at Portland, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Christenson Chris-tenson at Stayton and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Justeson at Mill City, Oregon, as well as a most interesting inter-esting trip to Peace Arch in Canada. Can-ada. After having such a delightful de-lightful time, she is happy to return re-turn to her home, relatives and friends at Moroni again. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stark of Salt Lake City visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Olrich Stark at Freedom. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Loos Syme enjoyed a family reunion re-union on July 4th in Nephi Canyon. Can-yon. This was the first time they had all been together for eight years. Those present were the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lees Sym and th following childrn: Frank, Courtney, and Glade Syme, Mrs. Mary Hansen, Kathleen Kath-leen Kelsey, Betty, Ida and Myr-na Myr-na Syme of Salt Lake City. After Af-ter a time of social chat they all enjoyed a most delicious hot dinner. din-ner. Mr. and Mrs. Bard Blackham of Portales, New Mexico and Mr. and Mrs. Newell Olson and family fam-ily of Idaho Falls, Idaho are visiting vis-iting with relatives and friends here and are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Blackham. Mr. and Mrs. Donnell Christenson Chris-tenson have moved to Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Draper and baby are now renting the home previously occupied by them, which is part of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hardy. The Jr. Sorosis club members were entertained last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Revill where the time was spenti n sewing, after which a delicious lunch was served. Merlin Nielson entertained his Senior Sunday School class on an outing trip Tuesday. They first went to Provo Canyon where they enjoyed their lunches, after which they motored to Park Ro-she Ro-she and there the time was spent in swimming. There was a large number in attendance. The Moroni Lions club entertained enter-tained their wives and partners Monday evening at the community com-munity Camp grounds in Eph-raim, Eph-raim, where a three course dinner din-ner was served at 7:30 p. m. to 46 people, after which a camp fire program was enjoyed with Clifford Blackham acting as master of ceremonies. Short talks were given by President Pres-ident Rex Kellett, Howard Black- ham and Lawrence Kelson. A toast to the winners in the recent Magpie drive, staged in the spring by the Lions club, was 'given in poetry by Mrs. Ivy Anderson And-erson and an original song by I Mrs. Leona Iro::j and Vanorma j Anderson. A toast to the Lions club members was given by Mrs. oJsoph Prestwich, after which responses were made by Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Anderson and Morris Anderson. Ernest R. Anderson, former club member, also gave a talk. Out of town people attending were Mr. and Mis. Ernest R. And'-ersonjjf And'-ersonjjf RicMield, Utah; Mr. and Mis. Bard hiackharn of Portals New Mexico and Mrs. Newell Olson Ol-son of Idaho Falls. Idaho. Mrs. Fenton Draper and Mrs. Horace Draper spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake City. |
