Show j K0R0NI I 1 By Special Correspondence The many relatives and friends of Ernest Blackham will regret to learn of an accident on Tuesday Tues-day in which he was seriously injured, but everyone is hoping that he may recover soon again. Ernest and Revis Christensen were in a field hauling hay with Mr. Blackham on the load. As i they were working the hay at the front end of the wagon became be-came loose and gave way with ' him and caused him to slide off j the load down behind the horses I on the ground. This caused the horses to become frightened and when they ran awy, and the two wheels of the wagon passed over the right shoulder of Mr. Blackham, Black-ham, and one of his legs was broken at the ankle. He was rushed to the Dice hospital for medical aid. The Stake Selief Society outing in Maple Canyon was a big success, suc-cess, where 40 members of the organization enjoyed a delightful delight-ful program, and also their lunches. Free water melon was then served. The entire group expressed themselves as having spent a most delightful day. The "Victory" club members were entertained by Mrs. Shirley Madsen at her home last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening where the time was spent in playing games, after af-ter which a delicious "Pot Luck" dinner was served. There were 15 present. Mrs. Alene Anderson was a special guest. A most delightful time was spent at Maple Canyon last Sunday, Sun-day, the occasion being in honor of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Hattie Aimes of Provo. Besides Be-sides the honored guest, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Bradley and faimly, Mrs. Vina Dyckes and Sarah Dyckes. A delicious hot dinner was served during the afternoon. Mrs. Clarence Nielsen entertained enter-tained -last Thursday in honor of her daughter little daughter on her 9th birthday anniversary. The time was spent in playing games, after which delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. There were 24 of her young friends present. Mr. H. Boge of Greenville, Kentucky, Ken-tucky, who is in the U. S. Coast Guard, spent part of his furlough here last week as a guest of Paul Bailey. Miss Nedra Sorenson of Salt Lake City spent last week end with friends at Moroni. Mrs. Clifford Bradley and her yound son, Ray visited this week with relatives in Springville, U-tah. U-tah. Mi. and Mrs. Mack Morely are the proud parent of a baby girl born on August 21st at the Dice hosppital. Friends and relatives of Edna Larsen will regret to learn of her accident last Sunday. She was visiting with Mr. and Mrs. El-wood El-wood Faux at Dragerton, Utah when she received a broken ankle. She has returned home and her many friends and relatives rela-tives wish her a speedy recovery. In a simple, but impressive, ceremony at the mission home in Houston, Texas Eugene C. Blark-ham, Blark-ham, U. S. N. R., son of Mrs. Daisy Blackham of Salt Lake City, took as his bride, Miss Rheta Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson of McGill, Nevada. Wayne K. Wiscomb, mission co-ordinator, officiated at the rites which took place on June 10th. Mrs. La Dell Blake served as matron of honor, and Scott Benson was best man. The young couple are now residing re-siding in Corpus Christi, Texas, where the bridegroom is taking a -special Naval radio training course. He has labored as an L. D. S. missionary in the Norwegian Nor-wegian mission. Both Mr. and Mrs. Blackham have attended the B. Y. U. and the bride is a former student of the McCune School of Music. They are both formerly of Moroni. Mo-roni. Mrs. John Blackham of Le Grande, Oregon and Mrs. Doris Hiller of Salt Lake City spent last week end with relatives at Moroni. President Der Monte Madsen is in Bingham Canyon where his wife was operated on two weeks ago at the hospital there. It is reported that she is slowly improving im-proving and her many relatives and friends at home are wisning for her a speedy recovery. A large number of Moroni church members attended the conference sessions last Sunday in the Fountain Green chapel. The principal speaker was Elder Harold B. Lee of the Council of the Twelve and every sessionwas most inspiring and instructive, and was well attended. The concluding con-cluding program was given Sunday Sun-day evening under direction of the Stake Sunday School with John K. Guymon in charge. The comment of all who attended the entire conference was that it was the best one ever held here. Mrs. Joyce Johnson has returned re-turned home to remain with her father, John Irons and faimly, since her husband has left for the U. S. Service Rees Bradley visited with relatives rela-tives at Pleasant Grove, Utah last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Nay and son of Texas spent furlough here last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Sorenson. Mr. Nay is in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Curtis announce an-nounce the manage of their daughter, Voneal to Harvoy Madsen, Mad-sen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Urban S. Madsen of Fountain Green, U-tah. U-tah. Theye were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug. 14th and will make their home in Fountain Green. Corporal John K. Anderson, Mrs. Cleon Anderson, Mrs. Glen-dale Glen-dale Larson and Suzanne Larson visited last Wednesday with relatives rela-tives and friends in Redmond and Monroe, in Sevier county. Mrs. L. L. Blackham, Mrs. Fay Draper, Mrs. Ida Dice, Mrs. Ethel Bailey, Mrs. Dclphia Despain and Mrs. Lloyd Blackham entertained at a Second Summer Kensington honoring members of the Senior Sorosis club at the home of Mrs. ! Blackham last Thursday. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served. Mrs. Elden Hansen and children chil-dren of Midvale spent the week at the home of her mother, Mrs. j Annie Blackham. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Lewis and children are visiting at the home j of Jake Anderson. Sixteen friends enjoyed I chicken dinner in Maple Canyon Sunday evening, honoring Corporal Cor-poral John K. Anderson, home on a furlough and Miss Genevieve Iv.'hitlock of Gunnison. The Junior Sorosis club members mem-bers and thoir husbands sur-i sur-i prised Mr. and Mrs. Urvin Morley in their new home Sunday night. A Pot luck supper was rnjoyed land rook was played.
