Show William Olson Passes Away William Olson, 87, pioneer of Mount Pleasant died of a heart attack early this Friday evening at his home in this city. Mr. Olson Ol-son has enjoyed good health most ail his life and has only complained complain-ed of being tired the last few uays, and when the end came ne passed away suddenly. Mr. Olson was the son of John and Sophia Maria Olson, born on the Island of Bornholm which ooth Denmark and Sweden claimed claim-ed at dilferent times. He emigrated emi-grated with his parents to Amer-.ca Amer-.ca July 17, 186b, coming to Mt. Pleasant where he made his home. On April 10, 1876 he married Sarah Jane Tidwell in the Endowment En-dowment House in Salt Lake City. He is survived by five children, William A. Olson of Ely,. Nevada; Berkley Olson, alt Lake City; Theadore Olson who lives in Canada; Mrs. G. O. Bradley, Brad-ley, East Ely, Nevada, and Guy R. Olson of Mt. Pleasant; twenty grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mr. Olson was a farmer, livestock live-stock man and woolgrower. He was a director in the Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Commercial & Savings Bank, a stockholder in the first electric light company in Mt. Pleasant and took an active part in civic affairs in the community. He served as a City Councilman and was counselor in the Mt. Pleasant North ward bishopric for fifteen years. During his early life he worked on the St. George temple. Mr. Olson has many friends in this part of the state who will miss him for his cheerful disposition. disposi-tion. He always looked on the bright side of life and very seldom sel-dom failed to see the humorous things about him. He spread cheerfulness wherever he went. |
