Show Fish Hatchery At Fountain Green Near Completion Sportsmen from all parts of Sanpete valley are pleased to learn of the fine progress being made at the fish hatchery being constructed at Fountain Green by W. P. A. labor under the supervision sup-ervision of Arvon Johnson, Superintendent Sup-erintendent of Construction for the State Fish and Game Department. Depart-ment. The materials are furn- shed by the Fish and Game Department De-partment and the labor is furn- shed by the W. P. A. There are 18 small rearing ponds measuring 3 feet by Go :eet with a depth of from 30 to 13 inches. These are supplemented supple-mented with three larger ponds, one measuring U5 feet by 65 feet, -vith a depth of 4 to 5's feet, another an-other measuring 65 feet by 105 i'eet with an average depth of! about 3 'a feet, and a third pond measuring 65 feet by 110 feet I with an average depth of about' 3'.- feet. This plant will provide ample room for the rearing of a million fish. The construction work has been completed far enough to provide room for 500,000 Rainbow fry which will ha li hatchery next Wednesday, March l!Hh for care and feeding. It is a cold storage plant buiK with all tne .ate improvements for the care o: the feed in rearing young In connection with the plans a modern 5-room home is being erected for the residence of the amily of the caretaker. When completed and landscaped tnis natchery will present a beautiful spot which the people of Sanpete valley -will be proud to visit. In two years from now it will be a very valuable addition to ihe Sta'.e Fish and Game Department Depart-ment for the rearing of fish to De planted in the streams in this :art of the state. I.Lr.
