As president of the Utah Associated As-sociated Garden Clubs I take pleasure in extending to you an invitation to become affiliated with us, which in turn will give you an affiliated relationship with the National Council of Garden Clubs. In Utah we have at the present time a membership of around 800, including the Utah Rose Society, So-ciety, Utah Gladiolus Society, etc. We are carrying on varied activities ac-tivities which we feel will help a great deal in putting Utah on the map as a garden and flower state, all the way from efforts to obtain a permanent building at the Fair Grounds in Salt Lake for flower display purposes during dur-ing the Centennial when it is held, carrying on campaign to fight certain pests, flower displays, dis-plays, shows, etc. It is only through cooperation of the various vari-ous clubs that we are able to put this program over; and I am sure your club, in addition to becoming be-coming an important cog in the wheel, may receive benefit in return re-turn . through cooperation. I should be pleased to hear from you with the names of the other officers of your club; and be assured that I shall be glad to render assistance wherever possible. With kind regards. Sincerely, W M. KELLER, President, Utah Associated Garden Clubs. 2862 South 8th East St., Salt ake City, Utah. The above letter is being published pub-lished with the hope that it may stimulate more interest m making mak-ing our city a beauty spot of our StVe make a great deal of the-fact the-fact that Mt. Pleasant is the exact geographical center of U-tah U-tah Why not, when we speak of this, be able to refer to it with added pride, because it is one of the outstanding beauty spots alLovely ch'uches and public buildings are an asset to any community, but of even greater , importance are clean streets and yards free from weeds and unsightly un-sightly tumbled down buildings, and scrap piles, which only detract de-tract from the efforts to put forth to beautify the town. During the past few years there has been a very noticeable improvement in the apearance of our city and property owners continue to improve and beautify their property all the time. Along with the other commun-ities commun-ities in our state let us work for an outstanding Centennial year and then keep on making our citv more attractive. . More motorists and tourists will be traveling through our town now, so let's make Mount Pleasant one of those places they will remember because it was one of the most attractive places they had visited. |
