Show Students Awarded A..C. Scholarships MerriU Rees of Wales and Thomas Brotherson of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, former students of Moroni and North Sanpete high schools, respectively, were recently presented pre-sented with $100 scholarships to the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege by Sears Roebuck and Company. Com-pany. Basing their decisions on economic need, scholastic record, interest in agriculture, and possi-oilities possi-oilities for leadership in the field of agriculture, a college committee, com-mittee, with Dr. R. H. Walker, dean, school of agriculture, at the head, chose the winners in behalf be-half of the nationally known retail re-tail store. The scholarships are two of the 25 presented by the Sears Roebuck Roe-buck and Company to outstanding outstand-ing high school graduates who will be freshmen students in the school of agriculture at the col-ege. col-ege. The recipients of the scholarships scholar-ships received $50 upon registration registra-tion for the fall quarter and will receive $25 each quarter upon registration for the winter and spring quarters. It is planned by Sears and Roebuck and Company, after the close of the freshman year, to select the one scholarship winner with the highest scholastic average aver-age for the college year and a-ward a-ward him with a $300 scholarship which will be paid $100 each year for his next three years at the college. They also plan to award ithis same number of scholarships 'annually and to make it a permanent per-manent part of the college scholarship schol-arship system |
