Woodruff and family, Mr and Mrs. Jud Woodruff, Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Bywater, Johnie Woodruff and Miss Jane Walker all of Salt Lake City, were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Hugh Nelson and her mother, Mrs. John Larsen. Arthur Smith, a soldier, in the U. S. .Army at Monterav, California Cal-ifornia , is home on a three I week's furlow visiting his mother, Mrs. Irene Smith and other relatives rela-tives in Spring City. Airs. Bert Brown of Nevada is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Stena Allred and sister, Mrs. Frantz Madsen at Spring City. Mrs. Joseph Aiken of Salt Lake City was a week end visiter with relatives in Spring City. Mrs. Lynn Barney is visiting with her daughter and son-in-iaw, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Ericksen in Fairview. Clive Barney stopped over a couple of days at Spring City the past week to visit wnn relatives. rela-tives. Mr. Barney was on his return re-turn trip from Detroit to his home in Los Angeles California. Mrs. Irene Smith received last week a blue ribbon and a cash first prize on a hooked rug she made and displayed at the Utah State Fair. Mrs. Smith has made a number of hooked rugs, which is her hobby. The following teachers of Spring City attended the teachers convention during the later part of last week in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beck, Mrs Helen V. Madsen, Eva and Elaine Ericksen, Marie Jensen, Loa and Edna Allred, James W. Blain Max Blain Marsten Allred, Ernest B. Terry, Ferrell Sorensen, Reed H. Allred, Lee Allred and John S. Blain. Shirley Carlsen, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Carlsen of Eureka motored to Spring- City and visited relatives over the week end. - Mr. and Mrs. Grant Madsen' of Soda Springs, Idaho visited with relatives at Spring City last week. They came- here to see their sister-in-law, Mrs. Elwood Madsen, Mad-sen, who is very ill at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mina Carlsen. The Misses Helen and Edna Watson of Salt Lake City were week end visitors at Spring City. They were accompanied back by their brother, Gary Kent Watson, who will attend school in Salt Lake City this winter. Miss Geneva Strate has returned re-turned home from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Vergus Osborne entertained entertain-ed a number of young friends of her sons Glen and Leo on Sunday, Sun-day, the occasion being their birthday. Martt Walker of Orem is visiting visit-ing with relatives in Spring City. Glen Nunley and family have moved to Ephraim. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Barney are the proud grand parents of a baby boy born at Fairview to Mr. and Mrs. Reed Ericksen. Mrs. Ericksen Erick-sen was formerly Miss Bernice Barney. Mrs. Eugene Christensen of Moroni visited Monday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ornald Hansen ' |
