Show I FAIRVIEW I By Special Correspondence Emily A. Mower Passes Away Mrs. Emily A. Mower, widow of Jchn L. Mower, died at her home October 10th. She was the daughter of Andrew and Louesa Anderson, and was born in Sweden April 4, 1864. She married Jihn L. Mower September 21, 1879. She was the mother of 13 children including one pair of twins. She is survived by 4 sens and 4 daughters: Johny Mower, Mow-er, Mrs. Urban Hartley, Winston Mower, Fred Mower and Mrs. Audry Rasmussen of Oakville, Mrs. George Brown of Garfield, Mrs. Lorna Tucker Tuck-er of Castle Gate, and Roland Mower, Mow-er, of Pah-view. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 7 , great grandchildren; also one sester, Mrs. Agnes Bristow of Mesa Berda, Arizona. Ari-zona. Mrs. Mower was a very good wife and loving mother. Funeral services were held in the North Ward chapel with Bishop H. W. Jones presiding. The choir sang "O My Father" and the opening prayer was offered by Heber Mower. The speakers were: Mrs. Wilford Rasmussen, Thomas Rigby, Bishop James T. Peterson, who also gave some of her life hlstcry, and Bernard Bern-ard Lasson. The closing remarks were made by Bishop Grahatti. Music was furnished by the ward choir urder the direction of Stanley Brady. Special numbers were: "Mother Macree" by Floyd Young. "Tired" by Mrs. Grant Olsen and "Geing Home" by Mrs. Elllis D. Ccombs. The closing song, "May We Meet Beyond The River," was rendered by the choir and the bene-diction bene-diction was given by Burns Cox. Relatives from Spanish Fork, Prove, Salt Lake, Castle Gate and the Reservation Res-ervation came tc attend the funeral. Interment was in the city cemetery where President H. C. Jacobs dedicated dedi-cated the grave. The following students from Fair-view Fair-view are attending the Brigham Ycung University: Seniors, Delbert L. Miner; Juniors: Devon Sanderson, Sander-son, Gwsn Hartley and Edwin Miner; Min-er; Sophimores: Glade Rigby, Don Vance, Allen Fadsen; Freshmen: Clair Tucker, Ross Nielsen, Jay Larsen, Lar-sen, Boyd Olsen, F-.Het Sanders, Allen Al-len Rosenlund, Leah Miner, Virginia Surdwall, Lillian Pritchett, Arthur Carlston, Vernon Lund, Marvin Mower, Ted Madsen, and Heber Graham. The following students of Fair-view Fair-view are attending the Sncw College: Col-lege: Lorraine Cox, Eva Stewart, Thelma Vance, Ruth Rigby, and Violet Terry. Word has been received here of the death of Marylin Joy Dixon, infant daughter of Robert E. and Ethel Turpin Dixcn, at Van Nuys, California. She is survived besides her parents by her grandlmother,. Mrs. Julia lirrpin of Fairview. Ninth grade Lloyd Rasmussen, president; Giant Sanderson, vice president; Elaine Jensen, secretary; Lavee Brady, treasurer. Board members, tenth grade Leon Neilscn, Ross Hartley and Glenda Stewart. Ninth grade Alden Rigby, Winona Tucker and Dee Jensen. Eighth grade Goldie Tucker, president; Dairell Stewart, vice president; Olive Stewart, secretary; secre-tary; Norma Graham, treasurer; board members, Eleen Barker. Harold Har-old Graham and Dorothy Cox. Seventh grade Keith Vance, president; Ncreen Brady, vice president; pres-ident; Betty Fowles, secretary; Vada Tucker, treasurer; board members, Mirth Miner, Janis Larsen Lar-sen and R. J. Christenson. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Turpin welcomed wel-comed a baby boy this week. Mrs. Turpin was formerly Miss Phyllis Matson. Miss Cleo Rasmussen, who has spent the past three years working in Salt Lake City fcr the Royal Baking Company, spent a few days in Fairview before leaving, October 3rd for Los Angeles, California, where she has employment. Mr. and Mrs. David Sanderson and children of Hinckley spent last weekend with Fairview friends and Mr. and Mrs. Urban Bench, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Bench and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Mower, Mr. and Mrs. A L. Carlstcn, Mrs. Annie C. Bills and daughter Alten, Bishop and Mrs. H. W. Jones, Bishop and Mrs. Burns Cox, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Anderson attended conference of the L. D. S. Church in Salt Lake City last week. Mr and Mrs. John Chnstensen and daughter Thelma. Mrs. E A. Day Sr., Mrs. Ellis Wilcox, Mrs. Oleah Cox, Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner, Mrs. India Pritchett, Mr. Flcren Petersen and Mrs. Linda Garlic attended the funeral of Mrs. Fred Larsen at Mt. Pleasant Monday of last week. |
