Show FAIRVIEW ' By Special Correspondence The following program was given in the Scuth ward chapel, Friday, March 17th, at 11 o'clock a. m. by the Relief societies with Mr. C. V. Howell as master of ceremonies: Community singing, "Come, Come Ye Saints;" prayer, Bishop Jones; a pageant, "The Spirit of Womanhood," Woman-hood," given by 16 ladies; short talks by the presidents of each ward; accordian solo, Lawrence Allred; one act play, "Stoves:" rose dramatization; operetta, "Cynthia's "Cyn-thia's Strategy;" luncheon was served at one o'clock; community singing; reading, Mary Sanderson; solo, Neola Olson, dance, Mrs. Duane Jensen; mutual chorus: stunt by Kate Mills and company: selections by Harmonica Band; reading, Elvira Rigby; accordian solo, S. D. Bills; stunt by Milburn ward; song by Milburn ward; reading, Diantha Sanderson; one act play, "Our Comical Countfvl Cousins;" prayer, Bishop Nielson. In the evening a dance will be held in the Amusement hall for the general public. All married people from both Fairview wards, Milburn and Oak Creek are invited in-vited to attend the celebration. Mrs. Alma Esplund of the State Agricultural college was the speaker speak-er at the Parent Teachers meeting Thursday evening. Her subject was literature. Miss Ellen Agren gave a talk and demonstration on making mak-ing over clothes and how to clean and press suits Friday. Mr. Melvin O. Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Cox of Fairview, was married Friday, March 10, to Miss Edith Beckslrand of Meadow. They were married in the Manti Temple. A supper was given in their honor at the home of the groom's parents Friday evening. Mrs. Cox is a teacher in the public pub-lic schools at Meadow, where they will make their home for the rest of the school year. Mr. Cox is a returned missionary. Jesse Wine Clement, 58, of Fair-view Fair-view and Duchesne, died Monday morning in a hospital. Mr. Clement, Cle-ment, who was a carpenter was bcrn Marcn 30, 1874 at Fairviev Surviving i:e his widow, Sarah Clement and six children, Arel Clement, Mrs. Delia Jensen, Mrs. Vale White, Lowell, Lyle and Ted Clement, all of Duchesne; six brothers, Fasten, Oliver and Albert of Fairview; Clarence of Long Beach, California; Ames of Provo and Tom of Duchesne; one sister, Mrs. Nancy Williams of Arizona. Funeral services for Mr. Clement were held in the North ward chapel cha-pel with Bishop H. W. Jones In charge. The prayers were offered by Fred Christiansen and Ray Stewart. Music was by the choir. The speakers were Peter Peterson, Mr. Stott of Duchesne, B. Moulten of Duchesne, and Mayor H. P. Hansen. Special music included a vocal duet by Jesse Young and Stanley Brady; vocal duet, Flovd Young and Ellen Peterson; violin duet, Alvin and Randall Brady. The grave was dedicated by J. H. Brady. The Misses Etta Rasmussen, Ceva Norman and Phyllis Matson spent the week-end in Indianola visiting relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Cox entertained en-tertained at dinner Sunday evening eve-ning in honor of Mr. Cox's birthday birth-day anniversary. A social evening was enjoyed by twenty-four guests. Mrs. Otto Madsen entertained at her home Wednesday evening in honor of her father, Oscar Norman, Nor-man, the occasion being his marriage mar-riage anniversary. The evening was spent in plaviner 500. Hirt prizes were won by Orson Miner and Lucetta Cheney and consolation consola-tion by Myron Tanner and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Cox. Dinner was served to thirty guests. The S. O. D. H. club was entertained enter-tained at the home of Miss Eva Madsen Friday afternoon. Word has been received here by Mr. and Mrs. A U. Miner of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ashman of Riverton, Utah. Mrs. Ashman was formerly IM'ss Verda Miner of Fairview. Mrs. Thelma Woodward and daughter, Zola Maurine of Salt Lake City are visiting at the home of Mrs. N. B Pritchett. Mrs. Olive Pritchett entertained at a quilting party Monday afternoon. after-noon.
