Show Vern Ericksen Passes Away Mrs. Vem Seely Winters Ericksen, Erick-sen, 38, wife of Sterling M. Ericksen, Erick-sen, died at the family residence early Friday morning from influ-pn?a influ-pn?a and complications following a brief illness. Mrs. Ericksen was born in this city January 26, 1895, the youngest daughter of the late John H. and Margaret Peel Seely. She received "her education in the local public schools, North Sanpete high school and University Univer-sity of Utah. She was engaged as a teacher in the EWn?re public schools for two years prior to her marriage to Usher Winters, only son of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Winters of this city, February 22, 1915, Her husband died during the flu epidemic, December 30, 1918. She was married to Stirling H-Erietcsen, H-Erietcsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry -Ericksen, in Salt Lake City, December 28, 1925. She has been engaged in the public schools of this city for (some ten years, and was, at the time of her death, part time teacher teach-er in the Hamilton school first grade. She was an active worker in civic, social and church affairs, having served as president of the Service Star Legion at the time of the unveiling of the Doughboy Monument in this city; president of the Junior Literary club, president presi-dent of the Twentieth Century club, president of the North ward. JM. L A.; and at the time of Her i death was first vice-president of ! the American Legion, auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, S. M. Ericksen, a son and daugh- i ter, Arthur and Margaret Winters, : all cf this city, and the following ! sisters and brothers: Mrs, . E. l McGahen, Mrs. Albert Merrill and i Leonard J. Seely, all of Salt Lake City: Mrs, Robert H. Hinckley, Og- den; 3. Lee and Ohraley P. Seely, i Mt. Pleasant; Oliver Beeiy, Ngw : York City. - Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but it is expected 1 that the services will be held Mon-C Mon-C day at 2 p. m. from the North ward chapel with Bishop Henry P. i Olson in charge. |
