Show Army Is Becoming Educational Institution Enlistments Discontinued In The Regular Army for The Present Time. Recent radio instructions from the War Department discontinued enlistments en-listments in the Regular Army fot the present. It is believed that a resumpton of recruiting activities will again start about January 1, 1936. During the drive for men for the Regular Army in. the la?t three months this office has enlisted some four hundred young men, mostly from the Intel-mountain District, which is an all time, record, except during an emergency. Tha type and character of thesis young men is far above average. Mapy of them being be-ing high school graduates and quite a ?v. college men. This is very gmilying and conclusive proof that the public is beginning to consider the Regular Army as an educational institution which oftcra many opportunities op-portunities for the improvement of its young men, mentally, morally ar;d physically. |
