Juvenile delinquency and many crimes of violence are attributed by criminologists and police officials to what t.hey term "wartime psychology." However, inanalyzing the FBI figures, the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union finds that while arrests for major crime in 1,193 cities during 1942 reached 155.46 per 100.000 population (as against only 59 in 1932), arrests for liquor offenses of-fenses were even morn numerous. The figures, the W. C. T, U. says, were 2,777.6 per 100 000 last year, as against 1,0621.1 ten years ago. |
